Powerball players checking their tickets Tuesday morning had two things to find out: the winning numbers from Monday night’s drawing and whether anyone won the jackpot.
The winning Powerball numbers for Monday, Aug. 31, 2026, were 11, 17, 25, 37 and 49. The Powerball was 10, and the Power Play multiplier was 2x.
The jackpot was an estimated $131 million going into the drawing. No ticket matched all five white balls plus the Powerball, so there was no jackpot winner.
The jackpot will roll over to the next drawing, giving players another chance to win the growing prize.
What were the Powerball winning numbers for Aug. 31, 2026?
The numbers drawn Monday night were:
11
17
25
37
49
Powerball: 10
Power Play: 2x
If you bought a ticket, check each number carefully. Winning a Powerball prize does not require matching all six numbers; several lower-tier prize levels are available.
Did anyone win the Powerball jackpot last night?
No.
No ticket matched all five white balls and the red Powerball, so nobody won the estimated $131 million jackpot in the Aug. 31 drawing.
There were still winning tickets. Two tickets matched all five white balls and won $1 million each. Those prizes did not include the Powerball number, which is required for the jackpot.
Because there was no jackpot winner, the top prize carries over to the next drawing.
When is the next Powerball drawing?
The next Powerball drawing is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2026, at 10:59 p.m. ET.
Powerball drawings take place every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. ET.
If you're checking a ticket after the drawing, remember that the drawing time is Eastern Time, so the corresponding local time will vary depending on where you are.
How much does a Powerball ticket cost?
A standard Powerball play costs $2.
Players can add Power Play for an additional $1 per play. Power Play can multiply eligible non-jackpot prizes, but it does not multiply the jackpot.
What are the odds of winning the Powerball jackpot?
The odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are approximately 1 in 292.2 million.
That means matching all five white balls and the Powerball is extraordinarily unlikely. The game does offer smaller prizes for matching fewer numbers, so a ticket can still be a winner even when it does not hit the jackpot.
