Beyoncé Celebrates 20 Years of B’Day With Deluxe Edition Featuring Selena and Maluma

Beyoncé is celebrating her 45th birthday by looking back at one of the most important albums of her early solo career.

To mark the 20th anniversary of B’Day, the singer has released an expanded deluxe edition of her 2006 sophomore album. The digital version stretches to 31 tracks, bringing together remastered originals, B-sides, remixes, previously unreleased recordings and two new collaborations with Maluma and the late Tejano icon Selena Quintanilla.

It is less a simple reissue than a deep dive into the B’Day era — including material that has been sitting in the vault for years.

Beyoncé and Selena share a posthumous duet

The most talked-about addition is “Irreemplazable (Como La Flor),” a mash-up that brings Beyoncé's Spanish-language version of “Irreplaceable” together with Selena's beloved “Como La Flor.”

The collaboration was made possible with permission from Selena's estate, according to Parkwood Entertainment. The pairing also has a personal connection: Beyoncé has previously spoken about Selena, another Texas native, as an influence on the Spanish-language recordings she made during the B’Day period.

For longtime fans, the track carries significance beyond the novelty of combining two major voices. It connects two generations of Texas-born artists who helped bring Latin and Spanish-language music to much wider audiences.

Maluma joins Beyoncé for “Cuerpo (Tumbao)”

The other new collaboration comes from Colombian superstar Maluma.

On “Cuerpo (Tumbao),” Beyoncé reworks “Get Me Bodied” with Maluma, incorporating a sample of Celia Cruz's “La Negra Tiene Tumbao.” Beyoncé produced the track alongside Edgar Barrera and CASTA, with Ali “Ali Ali” Alvarez credited as co-producer.

The result gives one of B’Day's most recognisable dance tracks a distinctly Latin-pop makeover while keeping its original identity intact.

It also marks the first recorded collaboration between Beyoncé and Maluma.

The vault opens

The anniversary edition goes beyond headline-making collaborations.

Several tracks that were associated with the B’Day era but didn't make the original album are now part of the official expanded tracklist, including “Lost Yo Mind,” “Creole” and “Back Up.”

There is an even older recording in the mix. “My First Time” was originally recorded for Beyoncé's 2003 debut solo album, Dangerously in Love, giving fans a glimpse further back into the singer's early recording career.

Another notable addition is “Can I Watch You,” produced by Beyoncé and Pharrell Williams.

The collection also includes “Morning Dew (Donk),” which Beyoncé released in July as the first preview of the anniversary campaign. A JAY-Z-assisted remix followed in August.

The physical editions are different

Collectors get slightly different versions of the project.

Beyoncé's official store is offering a four-LP deluxe edition on 180-gram blue vinyl, packaged with a 60-page commemorative booklet and two double-sided art prints. A standard two-LP edition and CD are also available.

For listeners, the 31-track digital edition is the most comprehensive option. For collectors, however, the physical releases add the kind of artwork and packaging that makes an anniversary reissue feel like an actual archival release rather than another streaming update.

Why B’Day still matters

Released on September 4, 2006, B’Day arrived during a crucial period in Beyoncé's transition from Destiny's Child superstar to fully established solo artist.

The album produced some of her most enduring songs, including “Déjà Vu,” “Get Me Bodied,” “Upgrade U,” “Ring the Alarm,” “Irreplaceable” and “Freakum Dress.” It went on to earn Beyoncé the Grammy Award for Best Contemporary R&B Album in 2007.

Twenty years later, the album's appeal is easy to understand. B’Day was packed with big hooks, aggressive production and an unusually high number of tracks that became part of Beyoncé's live and cultural vocabulary.

This anniversary edition adds something the original album couldn't: perspective.

Hearing the B-sides, forgotten recordings, remixes and newly created collaborations together makes the B’Day era feel much larger than the original 2006 album suggested.

And with Selena and Maluma now part of the expanded story, Beyoncé has turned a birthday celebration into something closer to an archival event.

How Americans Are Making $5,000/Month from Side Hustles in 2026

Introduction: Why Side Hustles Are No Longer Optional in America In 2026, the concept of relying on a single source of income has become outdated for millions of Americans. Rising inflation, higher rent, expensive healthcare, student loan repayments , and increasing daily expenses have forced people to rethink how they earn money. Even individuals with stable full-time jobs are realizing that salary growth is no longer keeping up with the cost of living. This financial pressure has created a massive surge in side hustles across the United States, not as a luxury but as a necessity. What makes 2026 different from previous years is access. Today, anyone with a laptop, internet connection, and basic digital literacy can start earning online. Artificial intelligence tools , remote work culture , creator platforms, and global marketplaces have reduced the skill and capital barrier dramatically. Side hustles are no longer limited to driving, delivery, or part-time retail jobs. Instead, Ameri...
