IRCTC provides many facilities to its passengers. Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) offers a variety of options from booking train tickets to canceling them. All these things can be done through IRCTC website or app. Through these you can book your own ticket sitting at home and you do not even have to go round the agent. But to use it, it is very important for you to create an account on IRCTC and register yourself. Follow these steps to create a new account on IRCTC:
- First of all, you have to go to the official website of IRCTC, irctc.co.in.
- After that you create a new account for IRCTC registration by entering the required information.
- Click on IRCTC sign up link on the login option.
- Now you will be redirected to IRCTC registration form.
- Then you have to enter on username. Username must be within 3 to 35 characters.
- Now you have to select the questions asked about security and answer them.
- Now enter your name, gender, marital status, occupation and date of birth.
- You have to enter valid email id and mobile number as your login password.
- Enter your full address including pin code.
- Now enter the text given in the image and then click on submit button.
- Verify the account by entering the code received on your registered number or email ID. Now you click on submit.
How to book railway reserve tickets from mobile phone on IRCTC website or app:
- Login to irctc.co.in/mobile with your IRCTC user ID and password or download IRCTC app.
- Now you have to click on Plane My Journey under Train Ticketing option.
- Now select your date of journey and train and continue booking.
- Now use the existing passenger list and add the passenger.
- Now confirm the booking and make payment through credit/debit card/UPI/Paytm.
- Now after booking, the passenger will get a reservation message with complete details of the ticket including PNR, train number, date of travel and class. During the journey, it is necessary to show the reservation message of the confirmed ticket on their mobile.
How to cancel railway e-ticket:
- Online tickets or e-tickets booked through IRCTC portal can be canceled online till the chart is prepared. Follow these steps to cancel your e-ticket.
- First of all you have to go to the official website of Indian Railways irctc.co.in.
- Then login the account. Now you have to go to the booked ticket link.
- Select the passenger to be canceled and select the ticket to be canceled.
- The cancellation will be confirmed online and the refund will be credited back to the account used for booking after the cancellation charge is over.
