From today, you can send money through WhatsApp, the company told how it will work

WhatsApp UPI Payment: Now in India, WhatsApp users will be able to transfer money to each other through this app. The National Payment Corporation of India (NPCI) has approved WhatsApp on Thursday.

WhatsApp was waiting for this for almost 3 years and now the company has made it live in India. Testing of WhatsApp UPI based payment has already been done.


Facebook India head Ajit Mohan has said, 'Payments have been made live on WhatsApp in India and people will be able to send money through WhatsApp. 

We are excited that the company will be able to contribute to India's digital payment shift. '
WhatsApp Payment will be available in ten regional languages ​​in India. If your WhatsApp app already has a payment option, now you can use it. If not, then you can check the payment option by updating WhatsApp.

In order to use WhatsApp Payment, customers have to have a debit card which supports UPI. You can activate it by going to WhatsApp Payment option and selecting bank and entering details.

WhatsApp has said in its statement, 'From today, WhatsApp users of the country will be able to pay with this app. WhatsApp's Secure Payment Experience will make sending money as easy as sending messages'

WhatsApp by National Payment Corporation. In collaboration with Off India, a unified payment system i.e. UPI based payment interface has been prepared and data localization has also been taken into consideration.

WhatsApp has tied up with five big banks for payment service. These include ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, Axis Bank, SBI and JIo Payments Bank.


It is worth noting that not only money from WhatsApp can be sent to any UPI supported app from WhatsApp. That is, even if the next Shaks WhatsApp payment is not being used, you will still be able to pay through WhatsApp.


According to WhatsApp, payment here will be secure and UPI PIN will be required for every transaction. In the statement, the company has said that WhatsApp payments will be available on both Android and iOS platforms. For this, users can update the app.
