"If the Russian vaccine is successful, we will have to see how safe and effective it is, and if so, then India has the capacity to produce the vaccine in large quantities," said AIIMS Director Dr. Randeep Guleria said.

The coronavirus vaccine in Russia has been developed by the Gamaleya Research Institute affiliated with the Russian Ministry of Health. According to Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko, if his vaccine succeeds in testing, the country will start mass production from October.

DIF chief Kirill Dmitriev, however, claimed the vaccine was safe. He informed that the data after vaccination will also be published in the coming days.
